# Bring an item to a meeting agenda

## Bring an item to a meeting agenda

**Bring to a meeting** sits in the actions menu of a goal, task, board, proposal, metric or checklist. You pick one of your upcoming meetings, add a note if it helps, and the item lands on that meeting's agenda, linked back to the original. The goal or task itself does not move: it stays where it lives.

## Which items can I bring?

The action appears in the item's actions menu, the one behind the three dots:

- **Goals**, on the goal page and in the goal panel. The Goals list rows do not carry it, so open the goal first.
- **Tasks** and **boards**, in the Projects module.
- **Proposals**, on the Proposals page, as long as the proposal is not already on a meeting agenda.
- **Metrics** and **checklists**, on a circle page under the **Metrics** and **Checklists** tabs.
- **Agenda items** themselves, in **Meetings › Agenda items**.

**Note:** tensions work differently. Open the tension and use **Process this tension › Create an Agenda Item**, described in [Where are my tensions and how do I process them?](/structure-governance/tensions-overview).

## How do I bring an item to a meeting?

1. Open the item's actions menu and click **Bring to a meeting**.
2. Find the meeting in the list, or type part of its title in **Search meetings**.
3. For a recurring meeting, click the series to expand it, then pick the occurrence you want.
4. Under **Notes**, add any context the meeting needs. This is optional.
5. Click **Add to meeting**.

**Added to meeting** confirms the item is on the agenda, and **Open meeting** takes you straight to it.

## Which meetings appear in the list?

Four rules decide what you see, and they explain most empty lists:

- Only **upcoming** meetings. A meeting that has already started or finished is never a target.
- Only the next **30 days**. Beyond that window, schedule the meeting first, then bring the item.
- Only meetings **you organise or may edit**. Being invited to a meeting is not enough for it to appear here.
- Meetings the item is already on carry a tick and cannot be selected again.

When nothing qualifies, the dialog reads **No upcoming meetings in the next 30 days**.

## How do I move an agenda item to another meeting?

Go to **Meetings › Agenda items**. This list holds every agenda item you own, including the ones not yet attached to a meeting.

1. Open a row's actions menu and click **Bring to a meeting**, then choose the target meeting.
2. To move several at once, tick the rows and use **Bring to a meeting** in the bulk action bar.

Moving an item this way offers no **Notes** field, because the item already carries its own description. **Remove from meeting**, in the same menu, sends an item back to the list without deleting it.
