# What is Talkspirit?

Talkspirit is the European operating system for organisational clarity, designed for the AI era.

It makes how your organisation is structured explicit, and connects that structure to how work happens and how information flows. You reach each area from the navigation rail on the left of every screen.

> **Coming from Holaspirit?** Your circles, roles, meetings and goals are all here, in Talkspirit. Governance is part of Structure rather than a separate product.

## How does Talkspirit fit together?

Talkspirit brings together three interconnected dimensions, with Structure as the foundation the other two rely on. Together, they connect your organisation from strategy to execution.

### Structure

Structure is the foundation: it makes your organisation explicit, and the other two dimensions rely on it.

- **Structure** shows your organisation as a live chart of teams and circles and roles, each with its own purpose and accountabilities. See the [Governance glossary](/en/getting-started/governance-glossary) for these terms.
- **Goals** sets objectives and key results and links them to the teams and roles responsible for them.
- **Meetings** runs structured tactical and governance meetings with shared agendas.

### Collaboration

Collaboration connects day-to-day work to that structure.

- **Projects** plans and tracks work on Kanban boards, timelines and task lists.
- **Drive** stores and shares files, and **Library** provides a shared space for collaborative pages and organisational knowledge.
- **Calendar** brings together events, meetings and shared calendars.

### Communication

Communication gets the right information to the right people.

- **Newsfeed** keeps people informed through company-wide and group posts, updates and announcements.
- **Chat** supports direct conversations between people and within rooms.
- **Groups** provide dedicated spaces for people to communicate and collaborate around a topic, including with invited customers and partners.
- **Home** brings together the information your organisation publishes for everyone, such as announcements, resources and useful links.
- Video meetings can be started directly from a room or calendar event.

**Cockpit** is your personal starting point across all three dimensions, **Members** helps you find people across the organisation, and **Apps** is where available integrations are managed. For the full map, see [Talkspirit at a glance](/en/getting-started/talkspirit-at-a-glance).

## What does the AI era mean here?

Talkspirit is designed for the AI era because its assistant does not start from a blank page. **Spark**, the Talkspirit AI assistant, works inside the organisational context the platform makes explicit: the teams and circles, roles, accountabilities, goals and meetings you have mapped. It can answer questions about how your organisation is structured and help you act in it, from creating a circle or a task to defining a goal or reporting a tension. See [Using the Spark assistant](/en/getting-started/using-the-spark-assistant).

## Where should I start?

Your starting point depends on your responsibilities.

| Your responsibilities | Where to start | What you set up |
|------|----------------|-----------------|
| An administrator | [Administrator start guide for Talkspirit](/en/getting-started/start-guide-for-admins) | Your environment, members and structure |
| A member | [Member start guide for Talkspirit](/en/getting-started/start-guide-for-members) | Your profile, navigation, working with your team |
| Responsible for organisational structure or governance | [Circles in Talkspirit](/en/structure-governance/circle-overview) | Teams and circles, roles, governance meetings |

## How does Talkspirit work with your existing tools?

Talkspirit can connect with services your organisation already uses.

- **Identity management**: SAML and SCIM support single sign-on and automatic member provisioning from your identity provider.
- **Calendars**: two-way synchronisation with Google Calendar and an iCal (ICS) feed let you connect Talkspirit meetings with external calendars, including Outlook. See [Synchronising meetings with an external calendar](/en/structure-governance/allow-external-calendar-synchronization).
- **Cloud storage**: attach files from Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox or Box without uploading another copy. See [Enabling a cloud file picker](/en/integrations/enable-a-cloud-file-picker).
- **Partner API**: the REST API lets authorised teams connect Talkspirit with internal systems using API keys created by an administrator. See [Manage API keys as an administrator](/en/integrations/manage-api-tokens-as-an-admin).
