# Using the apps directory

The apps directory lists the external applications your organisation uses, so you open them in one click without hunting for a link. You reach it from **Apps** in the main navigation. The directory has two tabs: **My list**, your own selection of shortcuts, and **Browse apps**, everything your organisation has made available. Your administrator decides which apps appear.

## Where do I find the apps directory?

Click **Apps** in the main navigation. The entry appears once your administrator has enabled the apps directory for your organisation, so it is present only when your organisation offers a directory.

## What is in My list and Browse apps?

The directory opens on two tabs when your organisation manages its apps directly:

- **My list** holds the shortcuts you have added. When your list is empty, the directory opens on **Browse apps** instead, and My list shows "Your list is empty".
- **Browse apps** shows every app your organisation has activated. This is where you find apps and add them to your list.

Use the search field at the top to filter the apps by name.

## How do I open an app?

Click an app's card. The app opens in a new browser tab, so Talkspirit stays open behind it. This works from both **My list** and **Browse apps**.

## How do I add or remove an app?

In **Browse apps**, click **Add** on an app's card to place it in **My list**. In **My list**, click the trash icon on a card to remove the shortcut. Removing an app from your list does not affect anyone else: it only changes your own selection.

## What does Know more show?

Each card carries a **Know more** link. It opens an **App Information** window with the app's name, description and categories. From that window you also add the app with **Add to my list**, or remove it with **Delete from my list**.

## What is the difference between my view and an administrator's?

As a member, you browse the available apps, open them, and curate your personal **My list**. You cannot change which apps the organisation offers. Administrators see one extra control, **Manage applications**, which opens the configuration where they choose the apps everyone can use. For that side of the directory, see [Configuring the organisation apps directory](/en/administration-security/configure-an-organization-apps-directory).

## What if my organisation uses single sign-on?

When your organisation connects its apps directory to a single sign-on (SSO) provider such as Okta or OneLogin, the directory lists the applications your provider grants you. The **My list** and **Browse apps** tabs do not appear, and you cannot add or remove apps yourself, because the list follows your provider.
