# Sharing text or URLs on the mobile application

Talkspirit's mobile app lets you send text or a URL from any other app on your phone straight into your Talkspirit chat rooms. Select the content, tap **Share** in your device's share menu, choose **Talkspirit**, then pick the rooms or conversations to send it to. You stay in one place instead of copying between apps. The **Talkspirit** app must be installed on your device, and the **Chat** app must be available in your navigation, because shared content always lands in a chat conversation.

## How do I share text or a URL to Talkspirit?

1. In the other app, select the text or URL you want to share, then open your device's share menu.
2. Tap **Share** and choose **Talkspirit**.
3. The **Share to** panel opens, listing your rooms and direct conversations. Select one or more.
4. The message field is pre-filled with the shared text or URL. Edit it or add your own note.
5. Tap **Share** to send.

When you share a single room, you land directly in that conversation. When you share several at once, a confirmation appears and you return to your chat list.

> **Tip:** Images and files share the same way. Select them in the other app, choose **Talkspirit**, then pick your rooms and send.

## How is a shared URL displayed?

When the shared content is a URL, Talkspirit generates a link preview automatically and shows it above the message field. Turn the preview off before sending if you want to post the address on its own.

## Who can use this feature?

Any member can share to Talkspirit from their phone, and no special role is required. The **Talkspirit** app must be installed on the device, and the **Chat** app must be available in the member's navigation: shared content goes into a chat conversation, so the feature does nothing without Chat.
