# Using the search in Talkspirit


The search in Talkspirit is a search bar at the top of every page. Use it to find and open circles, roles, members, projects, tasks, meetings, and meeting reports across your organisation, and to jump straight to a settings page. Press `Cmd+K` (macOS) or `Ctrl+K` (Windows) from anywhere, or click the search bar, then type to see matching results.

## How do I use the search?

1. Open the search: click the search bar in the centre of the top navigation bar, or press `Cmd+K` (macOS) / `Ctrl+K` (Windows). On a narrow screen, tap the **magnifying glass** icon in the top bar.
2. Type at least two characters. Matching results appear as you type, grouped by type.
3. Select a result to open it. Results from the app you are currently in appear first.

## What can I find with the search?

The search returns these types of item:

- **Circles**
- **Roles**
- **Members**
- **Projects**
- **Tasks**
- **Meetings**
- **Meeting reports**
- **Settings** pages, such as a module's settings

> **Note:** If your organisation has renamed circles or roles, the search uses your organisation's own terms for them.

## What appears before I type?

Before you type, the search shows your **Recently visited** items: the circles, roles, members, projects, tasks, meetings, and reports you opened most recently from the search. Select one to return to it.
