# Adjust your accessibility settings

Talkspirit has an accessibility settings page where you adjust how the interface is rendered in your browser: text size and spacing, contrast and colour, reading aids, and pointer and motion behaviour. Open it from your profile picture in the top bar, or from **Accessibility** in your account settings. Your choices are saved for the current account and organisation in this browser.

## Open the accessibility settings

1. In the top bar, select your profile picture.
2. Select **Accessibility**. The accessibility panel opens beside the page.
3. Select a preference to turn it on, or select it again to cycle through its options.
4. To see every preference on a full page with an **Accessibility statement** tab, select **Open full settings page**.

## Which preferences can you adjust?

The preferences are grouped into four sections.

**Text**

- **Text size**: cycles through **Default**, **Large**, **Larger** and **Largest**.
- **Line spacing** and **Letter spacing**: increase the space between lines and between characters.
- **Bold text**: renders interface text in a heavier weight.
- **Dyslexia font**: switches to a typeface designed for easier reading.

**Colour**

- **Contrast**: cycles through **Off**, **Light contrast** and **Dark contrast**.
- **Saturation**: cycles through **Off**, **Low saturation** and **High saturation**.
- **Invert colours**: reverses the colour of the interface.
- **High contrast mode**: forces a strong contrast between text and background.

**Reading**

- **Highlight links** and **Highlight titles**: emphasise links and headings on the page.
- **Reading guide**: adds a guide that follows your reading position.
- **Hide images**: removes images so text stands out.

**Interaction**

- **Large pointer**: enlarges the mouse pointer.
- **Pause motion**: reduces animations and movement in the interface.

**Text to speech** appears above these sections when your browser supports it. Turn it on to have text read aloud.

## Where your preferences are saved

Your accessibility preferences are saved in the browser you are using, for your current account and organisation. They do not follow you to another browser or device, so set them again where you need them.

To return everything to its default state, select **Reset accessibility preferences** at the bottom of the full settings page.

## Check the accessibility statement

The **Accessibility statement** tab on the full settings page states the accessibility target for Talkspirit: Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA for the authenticated application. It also records the current conformance status and the work still in progress. These preferences are supported accommodations, and they complement that work rather than replace it.
