# Post validation workflow


## Post validation workflow
With the post validation workflow, you can submit a post to a reviewer, who reads it, discusses it with you in a dedicated thread, and then approves or rejects it before it reaches the newsfeed. It gives teams a structured way to share feedback and fix a post before it goes live.

> **In summary:** The author picks a reviewer on the **Validation** tab of the post editor and submits the post. The reviewer approves it, requests changes, or rejects it. An approved post is published automatically.

## How it works

1. The author writes a post, picks a reviewer on the **Validation** tab of the post editor, and clicks **Request validation**.
2. The reviewer receives the request and can **Approve**, **Request changes**, or **Reject** the post. Only the assigned reviewer can do this.
3. If changes are requested, the author edits the post and submits it again. The author and the reviewer discuss the post in a discussion thread attached to the validation request.
4. An approved post is published automatically: immediately, or at its scheduled date if the author scheduled it.

Each validation request moves through four statuses: **Validation requested**, **Changes requested**, **Approved**, and **Rejected**. Everyone involved follows their requests from the **Validation process** page: on the Newsfeed, open the **More** menu (three dots) in the action bar and select **See validations list**.

## Who can review a post

The reviewer must be a recipient of the post:

- For a group post, any member of the recipient group, including guests.
- For a private post, one of its recipients.
- You cannot pick yourself.

Group managers can also make validation mandatory for their group. In that case every member post must be approved before publication, only a group manager can be picked as the reviewer, and group managers themselves publish directly.
