# Using side rooms in a Talkspirit videoconference


## Using side rooms in a Talkspirit videoconference
Side rooms in Talkspirit allow participants to create separate breakout groups within an active videoconference. Only participants with a Talkspirit account can create, manage, and close side rooms. External guests without an account can only join or leave them. Participants in a side room can only communicate with others in the same room.

## How do I create a side room?

1. Click the **Participant** button in the meeting toolbar.

2. In the panel that opens, click **Add side room**.

A new side room is created and appears in the panel.

## How do I send a participant to a side room?

1. Click the **three dots** next to the participant's name in the panel.
2. In the **Send Attendee to:** section, click the side room of your choice.

## How do I close a side room?

1. Click the **three dots** at the level of the side room you want to close.
2. Click **Close**.

Closing a side room automatically redirects all members in that room to the main meeting room.

## How do I join or leave a side room?

### Joining a side room

1. Click the **Participant** button.
2. Click the **Join** button next to the side room you want to enter.

You can only chat with people in the same room.

### Leaving a side room

Click the **Leave the annex room** button to return to the main room.
