# Seeing who read a chat message in a room

You can check which members of a chat room have read a specific message with the **See readers** option. It works in rooms with several members and in rooms linked to a group, on your own messages and on messages from other members. It is not available in one-to-one conversations or in rooms with more than 100 members.

## How do I see who read a message?

1. In the chat room, hover over the message you want to check. Action icons appear next to it.
2. Click the **Other actions** icon (three vertical dots).
3. Select **See readers**.

The **Readers** window lists every member of the room who has read the message. The list does not include the message's author.

## How do I know everyone has read my message?

A round red badge with a white tick marks the most recent message that all members of the room have read. When that badge sits on the last message you sent, every member has read it.

## Good to know

- In rooms with more than 100 members, **See readers** appears greyed out with the message **Only available for rooms with fewer than 100 members**.
- In a one-to-one conversation, **See readers** is not available. The red badge with the white tick still appears on the last of your messages the other person has read, and hovering over it shows when it was read.
