# Publishing an article on the Homepage

## Publishing an article on the Homepage
With the **Article** module, you can publish static information at a chosen position on a home page. An article carries a title and a description, plus optional fields for a link, an image or video, an author and an audience. You can keep an article as a draft before publishing it.

> **Role prerequisite:** You need to be a Homepage manager. An administrator designates Homepage managers in **Administration → Apps → Home**; administrators are not Homepage managers by default and must add themselves to manage the page.

## How do I publish an article?

1. Open the home page where the article will be published.
2. Click an empty column in a row and select **Article**. To create a new row first, click the **+** above or below an existing row and pick a layout.

3. An editing window opens. Enter the **Article title** and the **Article description**. Both are required to publish; a draft can be saved without them.
4. Optionally add:
   - **Link URL**: makes the article clickable
   - **Link title**: label for the link
   - **Choose an image or a video**: imported from your computer

For the best display, match the image to the width of the module: see [Recommended image sizes for the Talkspirit home page](/en/administration-security/recommended-image-sizes-on-the-home-page).

## How do I insert a YouTube video?

1. In the editing window, paste the YouTube video link in the **Link URL** field.
2. Tick **Use YouTube thumbnail in article**. The video thumbnail becomes the article image.

You cannot combine a YouTube thumbnail with an uploaded image or video, and the **Link title** field is disabled while the thumbnail is in use.

## How do I choose the author and audience?

Select the **Author** from the member list, or publish as a company profile by searching for its name. An author is required to publish.

On a home page visible to everyone, the **Who can see this content?** list offers three audiences:
- **All users**
- **Members only**
- **Guests only**

On a home page restricted to members or to selected people, this list is not shown: the page's own audience already applies.

## How do I save as draft or publish?

- To save without publishing: set **Publication status** to **Draft**, then click **Add**. Drafts stay invisible to your audience until published.
- To publish immediately: set **Publication status** to **Published**, then click **Publish**.

Your article now appears on the home page at the position you chose.
