# Publishing a media item on Talkspirit

## Publishing a media item on Talkspirit
On the home page, you can publish a single image accompanied by a title, description, and optional link. This brings visuals to your portal and gives you a way to display static information in a defined position on the page.

> **Role prerequisite:** You need to be a Homepage manager. See [Managing and publishing the Homepage](/en/administration-security/managing-and-publishing-the-homepage).

## How do I publish a media item?

1. Go to the home page where the media will be published.
2. Choose the row and column position for the media.

3. An editing window opens. Add:
   - The **image** (required to publish)
   - An optional **title** and **description**, displayed on top of the image
   - An optional **Link URL**. The image becomes clickable and redirects to that link

See [Recommended image sizes for the Talkspirit home page](/en/administration-security/recommended-image-sizes-on-the-home-page) for the correct dimensions by module size.

If you add a title or description, a filter is applied to the image to ensure text remains readable.

## How do I choose the author?

Select which platform user is the author of the publication. You are the author by default. To post as a company profile instead, search for the company profile name.

## How do I set the audience?

If the page itself is visible to everyone, choose who can see this media under **Who can see this content?**:

- **All users**
- **Members only**
- **Guests only**

If the page is restricted to selected users or groups, this selector does not appear.

## How do I save as draft or publish?

Under **Publication status**, choose:

- **Draft** to save without publishing, then click **Add**.
- **Published** to make it visible, then click **Publish**.
