# Organising a videoconference with Talkspirit

Talkspirit has a built-in videoconferencing service. You can start a videoconference three ways: from a chat conversation, from a meeting, or from your personal public link. Both members and external participants can join, with or without their camera and microphone, and screen sharing is available once inside the room.

An administrator must activate the videoconferencing service before any of these options appear.

## How do I start a videoconference from a chat conversation?

1. Open the **Chat** app and select the conversation you want to use.
2. Click **Video conf.** at the top of the conversation.

An automatic message, "Join me in a video meeting", is posted in the conversation with a **Join** button for every member of the room. Selecting **Join** opens the videoconference room.

> **Note:** Anyone who has the videoconference link can open the room, even if they are not a member of the conversation where it started.

## How do I start a videoconference from a meeting?

1. Create a meeting with **New meeting**.
2. Set the location to **Video** or **Hybrid**. A **Video link** is generated automatically.
3. Keep the generated link, paste your own into the **Video link** field, or select the regenerate button to create a new one.

Set the meeting to **Public** so everyone in your organisation can see it and open the link, or **Private** so only invited participants can.

## How do I use my personal public link?

Each member has a personal public link that stays the same over time. You can share it with anyone, including people who do not have a Talkspirit account.

1. Open your account settings and select **General**.
2. Find the **Public video meeting link** section.

3. Select **Start video meeting** to open your room, or copy the link and share it.

The room remains accessible to you and to anyone you have shared the link with.

## Who can organise a videoconference?

Every member can organise a videoconference once an administrator has activated the videoconferencing service in the Administration. The same setting controls whether recording is available.
