# Sharing a newsletter with all platform members

## Sharing a newsletter with all platform members
Newsletter managers can promote posts from open groups by sending an email to all platform members. Platform administrators are newsletter managers by default. Other members must be designated as newsletter managers by an administrator: this is one of the delegated administration rights of classic Talkspirit, like those described in [User administrator permissions](/en/administration-security/the-user-administrator). Guest users cannot receive or manage newsletters.

> **Note:** The newsletter is not available yet, but it is planned. This article describes how it worked in the previous version.

## How do I create a newsletter?

1. Go to **Administration** and open the **Newsletter** section.
2. Enter a title in the **Newsletter title** field and click **Add**. Choose a short, clear title such as "July's news".

You can modify the title as long as the newsletter has not been sent.

## How do I add content to a newsletter?

After creating the newsletter, an edition section appears with three areas:

- **Title**: becomes the subject line of the email.
- A message area: write a short personalised introduction for the email.
- The posts you want to feature.

To add posts:

1. Click **+ Select a post**.
2. Select a group, then search for and select the posts to include. The list offers every open group, plus the groups you are a member of.

> **Tip:** Newsletter managers can also add an open group post directly from the Newsfeed, with the **Add in a newsletter** action in the post's menu.

## How do I send a newsletter?

Once your content and posts are ready:

1. Click **Send newsletter** in the edition section.
2. Confirm in the dialog, which reminds you who is about to receive the email.

The newsletter is sent by email to all platform members who have an email address on their account and have not disabled newsletter emails in their notification preferences. Guest users never receive newsletters.

To reach part of the organisation only, use the recipients field next to the **Send newsletter** button (it reads **All members** when left empty) and select one or more groups: only the members of those groups receive the email.

A newsletter needs a message or at least one post before it can be sent.

## How do I delete a newsletter?

Click the trash can icon next to the newsletter you want to delete, then confirm with **Delete**.

## How do I track newsletter activity?

After sending, each newsletter shows:

- The number of emails sent and the number opened (counted when the email is opened).
- The date the newsletter was sent.
- The full content, by clicking **See more**.

## What does the recipient's email look like?

The email members receive contains:
- The newsletter title as the subject line.
- Your platform logo.
- The recipient's first and last name.
- The content you added.
- Each selected post with a button linking to the full post on the platform.
