# Chatting and sharing a poll in a videoconference


During a videoconference, the chat panel lets you send written messages and create polls without interrupting whoever is speaking. Your messages are shared with everyone in the meeting, and every participant can answer a poll and see its results. Use the chat to share links, notes, and quick feedback while the meeting continues.

## How do I send a chat message during a videoconference?

The chat panel is a shared space for links and notes, so you can contribute without speaking aloud.

1. Click the **Open chat** icon in the videoconference toolbar.
2. Select the **Chat** tab.
3. Type your message and send it.

Your messages are shared with everyone in the videoconference.

## How do I share a poll in the videoconference chat?

You can create a poll from the chat panel to collect answers from participants during the meeting.

1. Click the **Open chat** icon to open the chat panel.
2. Select the **Polls** tab.
3. Create your poll with a question and answer options, then share it.

Every participant can answer the poll and see how others voted.
