# Using the Library


## Using the Library
The Library is a centralised app in Talkspirit that lets you find all the useful resources of your organisation in one place. The people who look after its content are usually called Library managers, appointed by an administrator. The Library is organised around main pages (broad categories) and sub-pages (sub-themes), and includes a search engine to help you locate information quickly. All members of your organisation can access it.

## How do I access the Library?

If your organisation has the Library, a **Library** tab appears in the left navigation menu. Select it to open the app.

If you cannot see the tab, your subscription may not include the Library, or an administrator has switched it off. Ask your administrator, see [Managing the Library](/en/collaboration/managing-the-library-module).

## How do I browse content from the Library home page?

The home page is the first view you see when you open the Library. It displays:

- Pages pinned by the Library manager(s), under **Pinned pages**
- The most recently created or modified pages, under **Last pages**
- A search engine

## How do I navigate Library pages?

The left panel of the Library shows:

- **Main pages**: broad categories or themes
- **Sub-pages**: sub-themes nested under a main page, indicated by a chevron icon

Click any main page to browse its content. Click the chevron to expand sub-pages beneath it.

## How do I search for information in the Library?

The Library has two separate tools, and they do different things:

- **Search engine**: from the **Home** tab, use the integrated search engine to find content by keyword.
- **Filter bar**: if you already know the title of a main page, use the **Filter** text bar to go straight to it.

Note: the **Filter** bar matches main page titles only. It does not match sub-page titles or keywords, so use the search engine on the **Home** tab when you are searching by keyword.

## Who can access the Library?

All members of your organisation can access the Library. Guest access depends on the settings chosen by administrators, and Library managers can further restrict guest access on a per-page basis.

## What should I do if I can't find the information I need?

Contact a Library manager directly. You can identify the last author of any page from the article view and reach them via the user directory.
