# Talkspirit Drive

Talkspirit Drive is a file space for storing, organising, and sharing files: documents, images, sounds, and videos. Every member has a personal drive, and every group has its own shared drive. The Drive gathers these files into five views, plus a list of the drives for the groups you belong to. Open it from the main navigation.

## How is the Drive organised?

The Drive sidebar lists five views:

- **My drives**: your personal drive. Files here are private to you until you share them.
- **Recent**: every document you can reach, newest first, drawn from your personal drive, your groups' drives, and files other members have shared with you.
- **Shared with me**: documents from other members' personal drives that they have shared with you.
- **Recordings**: video recordings of your videoconferences.
- **Trash**: files you have deleted, kept for 30 days before they are removed permanently.

Below these views, the **Groups drives** section lists each group you belong to. Select a group to open its folders and files, and open a folder to move into its sub-folders.

## What can you do with your files?

From **My drives** and your **Groups drives** you can create documents, spreadsheets, and slideshows when document collaboration is enabled for your organisation, upload files from your computer, or add files from an external storage service such as Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, or Box.

Once files are in the Drive, you can move, rename, copy, and share them, organise them with labels, and act on several at once with bulk actions. Each of these has its own guide, linked below.

## Who controls access?

Every member can open the Drive. Within a group's drive, the group's managers set who can create, modify, delete, and move files. To configure those permissions, see [Drive rights management](/collaboration/drive-rights-management).

## Good to know

- You must be a member of a group for its drive to appear under **Groups drives**.
- The maximum size for a single upload depends on your plan: 500 MB on Standard and 1 GB on Premium.
- Deleted files stay in **Trash** for 30 days, then they are removed permanently.
- Attachments posted in the news feed and files sent in the chat are not stored in the Drive.
