# Keep a project private to yourself


To keep a Talkspirit project visible only to you, set its privacy to **Secret** when you create it. A **Secret** project stays out of the project directory, and only its members can open it, so a Secret project with no one else added is private to you. Add members whenever you want to share it. Every project is a board with a privacy level: Talkspirit has no separate personal-project type.

## Prerequisites

The **Projects** module must be activated for your organisation. An administrator activates it; the app is off until then.

## How do I create a project only I can see?

1. Open the **Projects** app from the left navigation bar.
2. Select **Add project** and enter a name.
3. Set **Privacy** to **Secret**.
4. Create the project without adding other members.

Only you can open the project, and it does not appear in the project directory.

## Which privacy level should I choose?

Every project has one of three privacy levels:

- **Secret**: only project members can view it, and it does not appear in the project directory.
- **Private**: only project members can view it, and it appears in the directory with its content restricted.
- **Public**: everyone in the organisation can view and find it.

Choose **Secret** for a project that stays yours alone.

## How do I share it later?

Open the project, select **Add members**, and choose who to add. Everyone you add becomes a project member and can view the project.
