# Inserting and formatting text in a Library page


In the Library, Library managers create pages and sub-pages with rich text content. Select any text to open the formatting bubble, or type `/` anywhere on the page to open the slash menu. From these two menus you can style text, add quotes, insert emojis, mention members, and add external links.

## How do I format text?

Select any text to open the formatting bubble. It offers:

- A text-style menu: **Text**, **Heading 1**, **Heading 2**, **Heading 3**, **Quote**, **Bullet list**, and **Ordered list**
- **Bold**, **Italic**, **Underline**, and **Strikethrough**
- **Code** for inline code
- A font colour and a highlight colour
- **Link** for an external hyperlink

The same content options are also available from the slash menu: type `/` to open the full list of content you can insert.

## How do I add a quote?

Type `/` and select **Quote** from the slash menu. A quote block is added. You can also convert existing text into a quote: select it, open the text-style menu in the formatting bubble, and choose **Quote**.

## How do I add an emoji?

Type `/` and select **Emoji** from the slash menu, then choose the emoji. You can also type `:` followed by the emoji name.

## How do I mention a member?

Type `/` and select **Mention** from the slash menu, or type `@`. The list of members appears. Select the member you want to mention. Select a mention to open the member's profile, where you can start a chat with them.

## How do I insert an external link?

1. Select the text you want to turn into a link.
2. In the formatting bubble, select the **Link** button, or press `Cmd+K` (macOS) / `Ctrl+K` (Windows).
3. Enter or paste the URL, then select **Add link**.

To change a link, select it and edit the URL. Select **Open link** to visit it, or **Unlink** to remove it.
