# Duplicating a task

You can duplicate a task to reuse its structure and save time on repetitive work. Select **Duplicate task** from the task's actions menu, and a copy appears in the same section straight away, named after the original with a **(Copy)** suffix. The copy keeps the task's description, dates, subtasks, and assignees. Labels and progress bars are not copied.

## How do I duplicate a task?

You can duplicate a task from the board or from inside the task itself. The **Duplicate task** action is available on any board where you can create tasks.

1. Open the board and point to the task card, or open the task to see its details.
2. Select the three-dots menu to open the task's actions.
3. Select **Duplicate task**.

The copy appears directly below the original in the same section, with a **(Copy)** suffix added to its name.

## What carries over to the copy?

The copy keeps the original's content and its people. It includes the description, status, priority, start and due dates, estimated duration, and privacy setting, along with every subtask (each with its own assignees) and everyone assigned to the task.

Labels and progress bars are not copied. The copy is a separate task, so editing it does not change the original.
