# Enabling bulk actions on the Drive


Platform administrators control who can perform bulk actions in group drives from **Administration → Drives**. By default, only group managers can download, move, and delete several files at once in a group drive. You can instead allow all members to do so, and let each group manager override the setting for their own group. Members can always perform bulk actions in their personal **My Drive** and **Shared with me**.

You need administrator rights to change this setting.

## How do I choose who can perform bulk actions?

1. Go to **Administration → Drives**.
2. Under **Set who can edit multiple files in drive**, choose an option:
   - **Allow all members**: every group member can download, move, and delete files in bulk in that group's drive.
   - **Only group managers**: only group managers can perform bulk actions in group drives, and other members cannot.
3. Save your changes.

When bulk actions are limited to group managers, members can still download, move, and delete files in bulk in their personal **My Drive** and **Shared with me**.

## How do I let group managers override this setting?

By default, the permission you set applies to every group drive. To let each group manager choose a different permission for their own group:

1. Go to **Administration → Drives**.
2. Turn on **Allow group managers to overwrite this permission**.
3. Save your changes.

Each group manager can then set the bulk-action permission from their own group's settings.
