# Talkspirit Homepage overview

## Talkspirit Homepage overview

The Talkspirit Homepage is an internal portal where Homepage managers publish company news, events, key contacts and app shortcuts. Managers compose one or more home pages, each aimed at an audience of their choice, so the Homepage you see can differ from a colleague's. You open it from the **Home** entry at the top of the navigation rail.

## How do I reach the Homepage?

An administrator activates the Homepage and appoints its managers: see [Activating the Homepage](/en/administration-security/activating-the-homepage). While the app is active, the **Home** entry appears at the top of the navigation rail for members and administrators. Click it to open your Homepage.

Two behaviours depend on your organisation's settings:

- If an administrator sets the Homepage as the landing page, it opens each time you sign in.
- If no published home page is aimed at you, the **Home** entry opens your newsfeed instead.

## How is the Homepage structured?

Homepage managers build each home page from rows of modules and choose when to publish it; you never see draft pages. When several published pages are aimed at you, they appear as tabs and you can switch between them.

| Module | What it shows |
|---|---|
| **Carousel** | Up to six items in one rotating banner. A page can hold one carousel. |
| **Article** | A titled piece of information, with an optional image, video or link. |
| **Event** | An important date and its location. The manager types the date in: the module is not connected to the Calendar module. |
| **Media** | An image or video on its own. |
| **Apps** | Shortcuts to applications from your organisation's apps directory. |
| **Referents** | Contact people chosen from the organisation's members. |

Carousel, Article, Event and Media modules can each carry an image or an uploaded video, and each item can link to an internal or external resource. For the fields in detail, see [Publishing an article on the Homepage](/en/communication/publishing-an-article) and [Publishing app shortcuts on the Homepage](/en/administration-security/publish-app-shortcuts-on-the-homepage).

## Who sees the Homepage?

The **Home** entry appears for members and administrators. Which pages you then see depends on the audience the managers set for each page: everyone, members only, or selected people. Whether the Homepage app is available to your organisation depends on your subscription.
