# Public pages

Public pages are externally visible pages that an administrator builds inside Talkspirit and publishes to a public web address. A published page is reachable by anyone with its link, without signing in, so you can present your organisation's purpose, structure, and open roles to the outside world. Public pages are managed under **Administration → Public pages** and are separate from Library pages, which stay inside your organisation.

## Prerequisites

You need administrator rights. **Public pages** appears in the Administration area only for administrators, and the create, publish, and delete actions are restricted to that role.

## What is a public page?

A public page is a standalone page you compose in a block editor and publish to a public URL. Alongside text, headings, and media, you can add organisation widgets that draw on your live structure, such as an organisation statistics panel, a circle map, and lists of roles or members. When you create a page you start from a blank page or from one of five templates: **Organisation Showcase**, **Recruitment Page**, **Transparency Dashboard**, **Minimal Landing**, and **Culture & Governance**.

Each page has a status: **Draft**, **Published**, or **Archived**. A draft is visible only to administrators inside the editor. Publishing makes the page live at its public address.

## Who can see a published page?

Anyone with the link can see a published page, with no sign-in required. The page is served at your organisation's address followed by `/pages/` and the page's URL slug, for example `/pages/careers`. Use **Visit page** to open the live page in a new tab, or **Copy link** to copy that address.

Publishing captures a snapshot of the page and its widget data, so visitors see a fixed version rather than live queries. The editor preview states that this is exactly what visitors see. When your structure or content changes, use **Refresh data** to re-capture the snapshot.

> **Note:** A draft is not reachable at its public URL. Switching a published page back to draft unpublishes it immediately, and the link stops working until you publish again.

## How do I create and publish a public page?

1. Go to **Administration → Public pages** and select **New page**.
2. Enter a title. The URL slug is filled in from the title, and you can edit it.
3. Choose a template or select **Start from scratch**. The page is created and opens in the editor.
4. Edit the content. Changes save automatically, shown by the **Saving** and **Saved** indicators.
5. Open the actions menu and select **Publish**. The page goes live and switches to preview.

To take a page offline, open the actions menu on a published page and select **Switch to draft**. To remove a page for good, select **Delete page**.

> **Warning:** Deleting a page is permanent and cannot be undone. The page and its public URL are removed immediately.

## How do public pages differ from Library pages?

Library pages are internal: they live inside your organisation and are visible only to the members, guests, or groups you set as their audience. Public pages are external: once published, they are reachable by anyone with the link, without an account. Use a Library page for internal knowledge, and a public page when you want a page to be seen outside your organisation.
