# Enable the Translation add-on


The Translation add-on machine-translates your organisation's circles and roles into the languages you activate, so members can read the chart in their own language. Only an administrator can enable it, from the **Structure** module in **Administration**. Once it is on, you activate target languages and appoint translators from Structure settings.

Before you begin, check that:

- You have administrator rights.
- The **Structure** module is enabled. The add-on appears underneath it.
- Your subscription includes the Translation add-on. When it does not, the add-on shows as **Available on a higher plan**.

## What does the Translation add-on do?

It machine-translates the text of your circles and roles: their name, purpose, domains, accountabilities, and text custom fields. New and edited content is translated automatically, so a role you rename is picked up without any further action. Members you appoint as translators then review and validate each machine translation.

Content is translated into seven languages: German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, and Portuguese. How many you activate at once depends on your plan.

## How do I enable the Translation add-on?

1. Select **Administration** in the left rail.
2. Under **Modules**, open **Structure**.
3. Go to the **Add-ons** section.
4. Switch on **Translation**.

When **Translation** shows **Available on a higher plan**, it is not part of your current subscription. Select **Contact sales** to upgrade.

## What happens after you enable it?

Enabling the add-on does not translate anything on its own. From **Structure settings → Translation**, activate at least one target language and appoint translators for it. Members can then read circles and roles in the languages you activate, and translators validate the automatic translations.
