# Enabling Spark for my organisation


Spark is the Talkspirit suite's AI assistant. It answers questions, drafts content, and helps members act on what is happening in their organisation. An administrator switches Spark on from the Administration area, and once it is on, every member of the organisation can use it.

## Before you start

You need administrator rights. Spark also depends on your plan: if your plan does not include it, the toggle shows a **contact sales** state, or Spark runs as a time-limited trial with the days remaining shown next to the switch.

## How do I switch Spark on?

1. Go to **Administration**.
2. In the **General settings** group, select **AI assistant**.
3. On the **Activation** tab, switch on the **AI assistant** toggle.

> **Note:** Spark is off for a newly created organisation. It stays off until an administrator turns it on here.

## What happens once Spark is on?

Spark becomes available to every member of the organisation. A member opens it with the **Open Spark** button and can give it personal instructions from the **Preferences** tab.

From the other tabs of the same page, an administrator sets workspace-wide **Instructions**, curates the **Knowledge base** Spark draws on, and reviews consumption on the **Usage** tab. Switching the **AI assistant** toggle back off stops Spark for the whole organisation at once.
