# Disable notification emails for your organisation

## Disable notification emails for your organisation

Administrators can switch off notification emails for the whole organisation from **Administration → Organisation**. The switch stops the emails Talkspirit sends about Structure, Meetings, Projects and Goals activity, for everyone in the organisation including administrators.

> **Warning:** This switch does not make Talkspirit silent. Invitation emails, account activation emails and password-reset emails are sent by a different system and keep going out. If you are preparing your organisation before go-live, that is the part to plan around: add members only when you are ready for them to hear from Talkspirit.

You need administrator rights to change this setting.

## Turn notification emails off

1. Click your organisation name in the top-right corner, then select **Administration**.
2. In the left menu, under **Settings**, select **Organisation**.
3. Scroll to **Notification emails**.
4. Switch **Send notification emails** off.

The change takes effect immediately and a confirmation message appears. There is no Save button. Switch it back on the same way when you are ready to go live.

## What the switch stops

While the switch is off, Talkspirit sends no notification email for:

- **Structure and governance**: proposals, role and circle assignments, mentions, published documents, time-allocation reminders.
- **Meetings**: scheduled, updated, cancelled, approaching and overdue meetings, and published meeting reports.
- **Projects and Goals**: task and subtask assignments, completions, mentions, goal assignments, goal progress, archived boards and tasks.

Nobody is exempt. Administrators stop receiving these emails too, so do not rely on your own inbox to tell you what is happening while the switch is off.

In-app notifications are a separate channel and are not affected. Members continue to see activity in Talkspirit, they just do not get an email about it.

## What the switch does not stop

Only the three areas above send their emails through the service the switch controls. Every other email Talkspirit sends comes from an older system that the switch never reaches:

- **Invitation emails**, including reminders and any invitation you resend.
- **Account activation and sign-up emails** to people creating their account.
- **Password-reset emails**, so a member locked out can always get back in.
- Emails from apps that have not been reworked yet, such as Newsfeed, Chat and Calendar.

Nothing in Talkspirit warns you about this gap while the switch is off, so treat the list above as the real boundary.

## Preparing an organisation before go-live

The switch is the right tool for building your structure quietly: you can create circles and roles, move assignments around and reshape governance without a single email leaving Talkspirit.

It is not a way to add people quietly. The moment you invite someone, they receive an invitation email and can sign in, whatever this switch is set to. So build the structure first, and invite people last. If you need to prepare accounts before you want anyone contacted, ask Talkspirit support about the options for your organisation rather than relying on this setting.
