# Activating or deactivating the Newsfeed module

The Newsfeed module is on by default in every Talkspirit organisation. An organisation administrator turns it on or off from **Administration → Modules → Newsfeed**, and the change applies to every member. Turning it off removes the Newsfeed from the navigation for everyone. You can turn the module back on at any time.

## Before you start

You need organisation administrator rights to change module settings.

## How do I deactivate the Newsfeed module?

1. Go to **Administration → Modules → Newsfeed**.
2. Turn off the **Newsfeed** toggle.
3. In the **Disable Newsfeed?** dialog, select **Disable Newsfeed**.

The module is disabled straight away, and a confirmation message reports **Newsfeed module disabled**.

## How do I re-enable the Newsfeed module?

Go back to **Administration → Modules → Newsfeed** and turn the **Newsfeed** toggle on. Enabling takes effect immediately, with no confirmation step.

## What happens when the Newsfeed is off?

Turning the module off applies to your whole organisation:

- The **Newsfeed** entry disappears from the navigation for every member.
- Members lose access to posts, comments and reactions until you turn the module back on.
- Related services stop with it: integrations, events shared to a post, and newsletters.

> **Note:** The **Groups** entry shares the Newsfeed's access, so turning the Newsfeed off also removes Groups from the navigation for every member.
